New Summer Intern Joins the Team

Genesis has hired Caroline Kellerman, an incoming sophomore at Indiana University, as an intern for the summer of 2022. Kellerman is a journalism major with a public relations concentration and a minor in both marketing and political and civic engagement.

“I am so excited to be working with Genesis this summer and gaining more marketing and communications experience through this opportunity,” Kellerman said. Kellerman further stated, “The Summer of STREAM camps and activities are something I am particularly eager to take part in.”

While interning, Kellerman will be creating social media content, in addition to writing and publishing blogs, press releases, and newsletters. We are delighted to add Caroline to our team, and we look forward to seeing what she brings to the table.

Still Accepting Registrations for A Summer of STREAM Camps

Registrations are still being accepted for this year’s A Summer of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) camps, such as Future Ready Robotics Camp, The Science Behind Cooking Camp, and Camp Hogwarts. These fun-filled, co-curricular educational camps will be taking place during the months of June and July, which will offer an abundance of experiential learning opportunities.

The Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate is Bringing Opportunities to the Future of Our WorkForce

The Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate is designed to be awarded to Indiana students who have proven that they possess the soft skills and work ethic desired by employers. There are 14 students from Jac-Cen-Del High School and 8 students from South Ripley High School who are recipients of the certificate this year.

Students are measured on five subjective skills which include persistence, respectfulness, teamwork, initiative, and efficiency. They also must posses a minimum of 6 hours of community service, an attendance rate of 98% or higher, at least a 2.0 GPA, and no more than one disciplinary referral. All 9 areas of academic and work ethic competency must be met for students to obtain the certificate during their senior year of high school. The Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate will help to create the leaders of the future Hoosier workforce!
