Get Ready for Lunch at the 2023 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest

The 2023 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest is scheduled to take place on March 4th at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary. We are honored to announce that this year we have a special guest attending the contest: Jennifer George, Rube Goldberg’s granddaughter and the Chief Creative Officer of Rube Goldberg Inc.!

Participating teams include:
(Division I) Batesville Middle School, Jac-Cen-Del Elementary School, Salem Middle School, and St. Louis Catholic School
(Division II) Batesville High School, Oldenburg Academy, and Ripley County Engineering Academy (Jac-Cen-Del High School)

Doors open for the competition at 10:00 AM with the first machines runs starting at 10:30 AM. Come out and cheer these teams on as they compete with these complicated machines to try and Build a Lunchables.

Believing and Achieving Dreams with Patterson’s Nursery

Since its establishment in 2003, Patterson’s Nursery in Holton, Indiana has been designing, installing, and maintaining residential and commercial landscaping needs throughout Southeastern Indiana. Dave Patterson’s 30+ year experience in the landscaping industry and his encouragement to take a leap of faith has allowed him to expand his business from a one person operation to a thriving company that employs ten individuals. He advises aspiring entrepreneurs to grow slow in order to establish a stable foundation for their business.

Gearing Up for A Summer of STREAM in 2023

Summer is just four months away, and Genesis: Pathways to Success is gearing up to launch A Summer of STREAM. A Summer of STREAM is designed to provide co-curricular and various fun-filled STREAM activities and camps all through the months of June and July to, primarily, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Southeastern Indiana.

When registration opens on April 1st on the Genesis website, students will have the opportunity to register for a total of 15 camps. You will be excited to see some camps returning from last year, including Camp Hogwarts, but new ones have been added.
