Alumni Adventure on Wheels!

On Saturday, September 16th, past Kids Building Bikes Camp participants geared up for a β€œwheely” fun Alumni Ride! A total of 13 past camp participants, parents, and community members joined us to explore Milan on two wheels. The ride kicked off at Daren Baker Memorial Park and traveled around the town with a stop at the Milan ’54 Championship Water Tower.

This was a great day for kids to meet new camp participants, reconnect with their coaches from Kids Building Bikes Camp, and enjoy riding the bike that they built!

Take a Chance and Roll the Dice with Us!

There’s a solution to every problem, and D.I.C.E. Challenge teams from Jac-Cen-Del High School, Lawrenceburg High School, and Oldenburg Academy are hard at work preparing their unique and exciting business pitches. We can’t wait to hear about their innovative ideas on December 1st!

The D.I.C.E. (Dreams, Ingenuity, Creativity, & Entrepreneurship) Challenge is a regional business planning competition in which high school students in Southeastern Indiana create a business product or service, develop a business plan, and pitch their idea to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs. Business ideas and plans are evaluated and ranked, with the top 3 teams receiving an investment into their futures!

The goal of the D.I.C.E. Challenge is to inspire young people to learn about entrepreneurship and to see small business creation and ownership as a viable career goal.

Threads of Success: The Hiviz Side Hustle Series

Genesis: Pathways to Success, the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce held the third session of the Side Hustle series on September 21st, which highlighted The Hiviz.

The Hiviz is a woman owned, family operated business located in Batesville that creates customized apparel and uniforms. The owner, Lisa Hutson shared her experience of turning a side hustle into a full time career, and aspiring entrepreneurs were able to ask questions, seek advice, and enjoy a great conversation.

The Side Hustle Series is a great opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to network with community members and hear first hand experience of what it is like to start a business. Every entrepreneur’s story and journey is unique, so be sure to keep your eyes out for our next session!

Creating Opportunities Through the Power of Partnerships

Genesis: Pathways to Success and the Ripley County Community Foundation had the opportunity to present at the Purdue IN-MaC Micro-Grant Summit in West Lafayette earlier this month.

The team shared the impact that A Summer of STREAM has among middle school students in Southeastern Indiana and how these opportunities are made available - through the power of partnerships.
