Believing and Achieving Dreams: Blacklist Boardshop

Meet Joe Hughes, the entrepreneur behind Blacklist Indiana in Lawrenceburg, IN. Joe shares what it takes to succeed as a business owner, how he turned his passion into a thriving shop, and the journey of growing Blacklist Boardshop into what it is today.

Kids Building Bikes and Photography in Nature Camps

A Summer of STREAM kicked off with Kids Building Bikes Camp & Photography In Nature Camp! Kids Building Bikes took place at Whitewater Canal Trail where students gained insight on maintenance, safety, and tools. They assembled their bikes piece by piece and ended camp taking their new bikes for a stroll.

Photography In Nature Camp captured the beauty of Versailles State Park and The Capability Farm. Campers dove right into understanding a professional camera and how to edit using Photoshop. Carson Hughes, a high school senior with a passion for nature photography, left a lasting legacy through Carson Hughes Photography by proudly sponsoring the camp and inspiring the next generation of photographers.

Meet Lori Rennekamp: Entrepreneurial Program Coordinator

Welcome our Entrepreneurial Program Coordinator, Lori Rennekamp! Her passion lies in mentoring, networking and fostering community connections as well as helping others “spread their wings” to follow their own entrepreneurial dreams. Her role will consist of supporting and advancing the mission of Genesis: Pathways to Success by strengthening connections across Southeastern Indiana and expanding access to entrepreneurial opportunities. She will lead the development and implementation of high-quality entrepreneurial programs including Career Exploration Expo, D.I.C.E. Challenge, Emerge: Young Innovators Summit, and Masterclasses.

Milan C.A.R.E.S. Jedi Knight Academy and Game ON: Esports Camps

Milan C.A.R.E.S. Jedi Knight Academy & Game ON: Esports Camps continued A Summer of STREAM programs! Milan C.A.R.E.S. Jedi Knight Academy took place at Milan Elementary School where campers became space prodigies and learned mindfulness. They played capture Yoda and created their own unique lightsabers.

Game ON: Esports Camp took place at Milan Middle School where gamers went in-depth on their knowledge of Fortnite and faced-off in a tournament. Campers participated in multiple activities like team bonding exercises and developed skills like strategy, sportsmanship, teamwork and communication.

Career Exploration Expo

On Monday, September 8th, Genesis will be hosting Career Exploration Expo at Batesville High School! Ripley County’s juniors and seniors will embark on a journey by experiencing various hands-on learning opportunities, provided by employers/colleges, to delve into diverse career options.

Emerge: Young Innovators Summit

On Wednesday, November 5th, Genesis will be hosting Emerge: Young Innovators Summit at the Lawrenceburg Event Center This event is designed to empower local high school students with insights from our community’s seasoned entrepreneurs, strengthening their business acumen and igniting their entrepreneurial spirit.

D.I.C.E. Challenge—Student Competition

On Friday, December 5th, Genesis will be hosting D.I.C.E Challenge-Student Competition! The regional competition will task high school students with creating a business product or service, developing a business plan, and pitching their ideas to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs.
