Science Behind Cooking Camp

The Science Behind Cooking Camp's, held at South Ripley High School, theme was "Imagine the Pasta-bilities." It was an exploration of Italian culture and cuisine. Over three days, students prepared a variety of dishes, including appetizers like crostini, bruschetta, and mozzarella balls, entrees like homemade pasta, meatballs, and chicken parmesan, and desserts such as Italian hot chocolate, zeppoles, and biscottis. Jedi Knight Academy

The Jedi Knight Academy took place at Oldenburg Academy this month. Aspiring Jedi embarked on an extraordinary adventure. Students had the unique opportunity to build their lightsabers after finding their Kyber Crystals. The excitement continued as they played Smashball and raced droids, showcasing their agility and strategic skills. In the Boonta Eve Classic,  participants channeled their inner Anakin Skywalker to build and race their pods. It was an unforgettable week of learning, competition, and camaraderie. Camp Hogwarts

Wands Up! Oldenburg Academy transformed into the magical world of Camp Hogwarts, where young witches and wizards embarked on an enchanting journey. Students delved into captivating classes like Astronomy, History of Magic, Potions, and Charms, honing their magical skills and knowledge. The excitement soared as campers played Quidditch, competed in thrilling House challenges, and even took a trip to Gringotts Bank and Honeydukes. Congratulations to Slytherin for clinching the Quidditch Cup and Ravenclaw for winning the prestigious House Cup! D.I.C.E Challenge

Save the date for the D.I.C.E (Dreams, Ingenuity, Creativity, Entrepreneurship) Challenge! This is an exciting opportunity for high school students to showcase their entrepreneurial talents. This competition invites students to pitch their business concepts to a panel of local business experts and entrepreneurs, offering valuable feedback and the chance to win investments in their futures. The D.I.C.E Challenge encourages creativity, innovation, and critical thinking about business strategies and market opportunities. Schools who register their students for D.I.C.E will receive a whole curriculum based around entrepreneurship, as well as a grant for 20% of any prize money their students may receive dedicated to classroom enhancement. Registration opens on August 1 at 8 AM, and the final presentations will take place on December 6, 2024, at Ivy Tech Community College’s Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus. Emerge: Young Innovators Summit

Get ready for the Emerge: Young Innovators Summit, a dynamic program designed to empower high school students with the skills and knowledge to excel in business. Save the date for October 16, 2024, at Ivy Tech Community College’s Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus. Emerge offers a unique platform to engage with industry leaders, participate in breakout sessions, and collaborate with peers on innovative business ideas. With interactive sessions and potential mentorship opportunities, this summit aims to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit and equip students with the tools to bring their ideas to life. Emerge also offers a $250 stipend for teachers who attend, as well as a $500 stipend dedicated to classroom enhancement.
