An Overview of Genesis
Genesis: Pathways to Success is dedicated to empowering our community by fostering collaboration and innovation. We partner with employers, small businesses, educators, government, and local organizations to create programs that strengthen our regional economy and inspire the next generation.
Our work focuses on connecting individuals with real-world opportunities through engaging programs and initiatives that spark curiosity and build critical-thinking skills. By convening stakeholders, facilitating meaningful conversations, securing grant funding, and researching best practices, we drive sustainable growth and innovation across Southeast Indiana.

History
Genesis began in 2007 as part of a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to the 10-county Region 9 Workforce Region. This grant provided funding to support projects and programs focused on job training, job placement, and educational attainment across the region.
In 2016, the program was officially named Genesis: Pathways to Success, reflecting its mission to foster collaboration, innovation, and opportunity within the community. For nearly two decades, Genesis operated as an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation, driving programs that empower individuals and strengthen the local economy.
In 2025, Genesis became an independent nonprofit organization, marking an exciting new chapter. As its own entity, Genesis continues to expand its impact while staying true to its mission of building pathways to success for individuals and communities alike.
