Script to Screen: Filmmaking Masterclasses

Our first Masterclass was a resounding success! The Script to Screen: Filmmaking Masterclass, a three-part series, provided aspiring filmmakers with a learning experience covering every step of the filmmaking process, from concept to final cut.

  • Pre-Production: Attendees began by exploring the foundation of filmmaking from storyboarding, budgeting, and script development. Led by experienced local filmmakers, they gained insight into how to plan every aspect of a film before stepping onto set.

  • Production: Next, attendees moved from planning to action. At the Damm Theatre in Osgood, they had the unique opportunity to watch a short film being created in real time. They learned about camera techniques, lighting, and directing, and even had the chance to be extras in the film.

  • Post-Production: In the final session, attendees witnessed the transformation of raw footage into a polished film. Through expert-led demonstrations, they explored editing, sound design, and color grading, gaining valuable skills essential to modern filmmaking.

Jacob Nobbe

Curiosity, courage, and patience are the three words that resonate most with Jacob Nobbe. They've been his guideposts on a journey that began innocently enough - making silly skits with friends after school. Those early moments sparked a passion for video creation, though it took some big, bold moves to fully embrace it. Skipping the traditional college route, moving away, and taking leaps of faith in every aspect of life were risks that helped him discover his truth. By focusing on what he wanted to become instead of what he was avoiding, he’s been able to build a life that aligns with the dreams of his younger self and his grandfather. That vision keeps him grounded and driven to become a better version of himself - one that inspires others to reach their fullest potential.
