2020 Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest Results

On Saturday, February 29th, middle school and high school teams across Indiana had a great time participating in the 2020 Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest.

The contest was hosted by Genesis: Pathways To Success and Jac-Cen-Del School Corporation and presented by Duke Energy.  Special guest, Jennifer George, the granddaughter of Rube Goldberg, attended the event!  Below are the results from Division I (middle school) and Division II (high school):

  • 1st Place: St. Louis School (Stranger Things) & Ripley County Engineering Academy (Haunted Halloween)

  • 2nd Place: St. Louis School (Christmas Town) & Batesville High School (The Greatest Show)

  • 3rd Place: Batesville Middle School (Goldberg Cinema) & Homestead High School (Bedtime Stories)

  • Best Use of a Slinky Award: Milan Middle School (Mad Lab) & Anderson High School (A Christmas Story)

  • Legacy Award: Milan Middle School (Mad Lab) & Anderson High School (A Christmas Story)

  • Peer Award: South Ripley Junior High School (Nerds) & Ripley County Engineering Academy (Haunted Halloween)

  • People’s Choice Award: St. Louis School (Christmas Town) & Ripley County Engineering Academy (Haunted Halloween)

1st and 2nd place winners are qualified to advance to the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest Finals.  Finals will be on Saturday, April 4th, starting at 10:00AM at the Lawrenceburg Event Center in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
