Hustlin’at The Hassmer House Tavern & Inn

On May 23, 2023, Genesis: Pathways To Success, in collaboration with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Ripley County Chamber of Commerce hosted the second Side Hustle Series event in at The Hassmer House Tavern & Inn in Versailles. Owners David and Rachael VanArtsdalen were able to speak to a small group of individuals about how they got their start in Versailles, the challenges they faced in opening their business, and what other aspiring entrepreneurs can do to grow their business.

Ripley County Chamber of Commerce Director, Brandi Merkel, was asked how the Side Hustle Series can hopeful business owners. Her response was, “Bringing in those young entrepreneurs who are uncertain about taking the leap, asking questions, and what it is going to take to help them grow that business.”

Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Director, Melissa Tucker, was asked about how the Side Hustle Series would impact her organization as a whole. She stated, “We are excited because we are encouraging entrepreneurs who are starting out and wanting to do a side hustle. They can come to these events and talk to established entrepreneurs about their successes and struggles, which encourages others to move forward with their dreams of starting a business.”

The Side Hustle is in partnership with the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce and Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce with the goal of connecting successful business owners with new and aspiring entrepreneurs to share their stories and learn how to develop their side hustle into a career.
