Have you ever heard the saying, “Life is like a Rube Goldberg Machine because you never know what comes next?” Well, Rube Goldberg lives true to this saying because the corporation is always surprising followers when they least expect it. Last week, Rube Goldberg Inc. announced the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest task for 2021 is to, “Shake and Pour a Box of Nerds.” They’ve partnered with NERDS Candy to provide the first 100 teams with free registration!

However, Rube Goldberg’s biggest and most recent announcement arrived earlier this week when the worlds of Rube Goldberg Inc. and Minecraft collided. The two companies partnered and is bringing students a Digital Rube Goldberg Machine Contest with the Minecraft Education Edition. Contestants will have to create the six simple machines: the wheel and axle, the lever, the inclined plane, the pulley, the screw, and the wedge. Students will have countless opportunities to enhance their STEAM skills and have so much fun, all while playing a video game. Best of all, this year’s contest is free to all teams!
