Welcoming Summer 2025 Interns
Genesis: Pathways to Success, is excited to announce their summer interns for 2024: Abe Streator, Mya McNew, Kate Weber, and Kloie Lehman. These interns will assist in the marketing, development, and implementation of Genesis programming.
Abe Streator, a returning intern to Genesis, will serve as the Program Development Intern. In this role, he will continue to help plan all A Summer of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) camps and oversee fellow Program Development Interns.
When asked about what encouraged him to return to Genesis: Pathways to Success, Streator stated, “Genesis gives me the opportunity to make an impact on a cause greater than myself. I truly believe that we have an immense impact on every student that attends our programming and that they leave with lasting memories. My position is a Program Development Intern. Since February, I have been in charge of organizing A Summer of STREAM through leading camp committees, building curriculums, and coordinating camp logistics.”
Streator is an incoming senior at Indiana University where he is pursuing History with a minor in German. In his free time, Abe enjoys playing board games, watching movies, and is an avid basketball fan.
Mya McNew will serve as the Marketing Intern, in which she will write and distribute press releases, blog posts, and social media posts. Along with this, she will aid in the implementation of A Summer of STREAM camps.
When asked why she chose to intern with Genesis, McNew stated, “I chose Genesis because I wanted to be able to give back to my community. I love Ripley County and the people in it. I felt like Genesis’s marketing internship listed everything I wanted to learn and grow in. I’m super excited to work with Genesis and all the other interns!”
McNew is an incoming junior at Indiana Wesleyan University where she is studying Public Relations with a minor in Media. In her free time, Mya enjoys baking and playing piano.
Kate Weber will serve as a Program Development Intern, in which she will mentor and guide students around during all A Summer of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) camps.
When asked what encouraged her to intern at Genesis, Kate stated, “I wanted to seek the opportunity to work and help those in our community. Genesis seemed like a great place to begin with that. I hope to learn more about how to help the community and the behind the scenes of creating summer programming.”
Weber is an incoming sophomore at Indiana University Indianapolis where she is pursuing Dental Hygiene. Out of the office, Kate enjoys running, pickle ball, and being outside.
Kloie Lehman will serve as a Program Development Intern, in which she will mentor and guide students around during all A Summer of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) camps.
In an interview Kloie stated, “I hope to learn more about the way non-profits run and to see if it is something that I am interested in for my future. I decided Genesis was the place for me to intern because I wanted to do something that will make an impact and to interact with people involved in our community.”
Lehman is an incoming sophomore at University of Vermont where she is studying Business Administration. Outside of the office, Kloie likes to draw, play tennis, sew, and play with dogs.
“We are beyond grateful to have these four students as our summer interns. Genesis: Pathways to Success prides itself on offering high-quality and passion-filled internships for college students, allowing them to learn through experience and grow their skill set. Aligning with Genesis’ mission and programming efforts, they will provide unique perspectives and fresh ideas, and their knowledge, skills, and passion will be an impressive addition to the philanthropic sector,” stated Clarice Patterson, the Executive Director of Genesis: Pathways to Success.
