A total of 8 students worked in a mobile bike lab where they assembled their very own bicycle and were taught about bicycle maintenance, rider safety skills, and rules of the road.

Future Ready Robotics Camp a Success
Genesis' STEM summer camp, Future Ready Robotics Camp, took place recently with a total of 33 students who learned to build drivetrains, plows, hooks, and catapults to prepare for the 2021-2022 VEX IQ Challenge. The camp was designed to teach students how to build, operate, and compete with robots in hopes to inspire them to join their school robotics team.
Governor’s Work Ethic Certificates Awarded
For the 2020-2021 school year, 29 students from Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley High Schools earned the Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate.

Director of Genesis: Pathways to Success Steps Down After 13 Years
After 13 years, Cheryll Obendorf has decided to step down from the Director’s position of Genesis: Pathways to Success. Although she will still continue to consult for the Ripley County Community Foundation, she will be dearly missed.
2020 Maverick Challenge Results
The 2020 local Maverick Challenge was a huge success as nine teams participated in the competition at Oldenburg Academy on Friday, December 8th. Seven of those teams were from Oldenburg Academy and one was from Jac-Cen-Del High School. Each team pitched an entrepreneurial idea about an innovative product they wish to bring to life.
Lead Forward Community Grant Awarded to the Ripley County Community Foundation
The Ripley County Community Foundation received one of the #LSNLeadForward Community Grants for $2,500.00. The grant will be used to assist in the expansion of developing additional modules for the Mental Health / Trauma-Informed Virtual Training that will focus on Social Emotional Learning, Trauma, and Stress & Anxiety.
